Náš rodinný příběh se začal psát v roce 1929. Můj dědeček, Alois Görner, tehdy sloužil jako kapitán v československé armádě. S nástupem nacismu se však rozhodl pro radikální změnu – vyměnil vojenskou uniformu za sklářské řemeslo. Nebyl to ale obyčejný začátek. Alois Görner přišel s nápadem, který tehdy sklářům doslova zachraňoval zdraví. Staré pískovcové kotouče, které u řemeslníků způsobovaly těžké onemocnění plic (silikózu), nahradil moderním karborundem. Pro tyto kotouče tehdy získal generální zastoupení, čímž naší rodině vybudoval v oboru pevné základy. I přes všechny politické zvraty minulého století jsme poctivému řemeslu zůstali věrni. V roce 1992 jsme na tuto rodinnou tradici navázali založením naší současné společnosti Lausitz Glas Görner LsG. Our family story began in 1929. My grandfather, Alois Görner, was serving as a captain in the Czechoslovak Army at the time. With the rise of National Socialism, however, he decided on a radical change – he traded his military uniform for the craft of glassmaking. It was no ordinary beginning. Alois Görner came up with an idea that literally saved the health of glassmakers back then. He replaced the old sandstone grinding wheels, which caused severe lung disease (silicosis) among craftsmen, with modern carborundum. He even secured the general agency for these wheels, providing our family with a solid foundation in the industry. Despite all the political upheavals of the last century, we have remained faithful to honest craftsmanship. In 1992, we built upon this family tradition by founding our current company, Lausitz Glas Görner LsG.
